32" x 17.5" x 45"
A follow-up to a previous piece, this one is built mostly in woods
from Africa. The frame is wenge and the tabletop, drawer front
and panels are bubinga (African rosewood). I call it "Altar"
because the inset marble begs to display something very special.
The mirror collects light and throws a shadow of light, almost
a halo, over the marble.
This
piece was awarded third place in Traditional Furniture in the
2004 Design in Wood exhibition as well as first place for Excellence
in Finishing and a special award for Excellence in Workmanship.
