A small defect in the veneer was the genesis of this piece. The top was originally built for the "large chest of drawers," a piece you can see in the gallery. I inlayed a lotus flower over the defect and, encouraged by the customer/friend, built this coffee table. The drawer adds utility as well as allowing me to indulge my craft!

The top is sycamore framed in maple with an ebony string inlay and the legs, aprons and drawer are built in maple
